More shoppers now ask an AI assistant what to buy, click through to a store and order. Stores using Arenza already see orders arriving from AI assistants, nearly all from ChatGPT.
In your order list, those orders look like any other order. Shopify shows where each order's visit came from. You can filter its reports one assistant at a time, but there's no ready-made view of all AI-assistant orders together, by product. Here's how to find them yourself.
Option 1: Use Shopify Analytics
Open a sales report such as Sales by referrer, add the filter Order referrer name, and enter ChatGPT (then repeat for any other AI assistant you see in your referrers).
Option 2: Check orders by hand (about 5 minutes)
- In your Shopify admin, open Orders.
- Click an order number and find the Conversion summary section.
- Click View conversion details to see where each visit came from. Orders from ChatGPT show a source like chatgpt.com.
- Repeat for recent orders, and note the ones with an AI-assistant source.
If there's no Conversion summary, the order may be from a draft order or a channel other than your online store, the shopper may have blocked tracking, or the details may still be loading (it can take up to 48 hours).
A tip: ChatGPT often adds utm_source=chatgpt.com to the links it shows, so in your analytics you can also filter landing pages or sessions by that source.
Why the manual method only goes so far
Opening orders one by one works for a quick check, but it doesn't give you a total, a trend or which products AI assistants are sending buyers to. It's also easy to miss orders when you have more than a handful a day.
See them added up
The Arenza Shopify app shows which Shopify orders came from AI assistants like ChatGPT, broken down by platform, so you can see the total and which products they're for. It also checks what ChatGPT and Google AI Mode say about your store for your buyers' questions, so you can connect the answers to the orders.
Arenza is $0 a month. It charges a commission only on orders it brings, meaning the buyer's last visit was an Arenza product page or a guide Arenza published. Other AI-assistant orders are shown for free. The first 3 qualifying orders on every store are free.
